IB PYP Arts Teacher
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled IB PYP Arts Teacher to inspire creativity, confidence, and student agency through a concept-driven, inquiry-based arts program. The successful candidate will design engaging learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework, support transdisciplinary learning, and foster a safe, inclusive studio/performance environment where all learners can thrive.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver arts learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework and school scope and sequence.

Use inquiry, conceptual understanding, and ATL skills to develop students’ creative processes and self-expression.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate arts into Units of Inquiry and grade-level planning.

Assess learning using clear success criteria, process-focused feedback, and authentic performance tasks/portfolios.

Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including multilingual learners and students requiring support.

Organize and contribute to performances/exhibitions (e.g., showcases, assemblies, PYP Exhibition support where relevant).

Maintain an organized, safe learning space and manage materials/resources effectively.

Communicate learning progress with students and families in a timely, constructive way.

Participate in professional learning communities, PYP meetings, and school events.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
-
Bachelor’s degree in Arts Education / Fine Arts / Music / Drama / Education (or related field)

Teaching certification/licensure (or eligibility) in [Country/Region]

Experience teaching primary/elementary-aged students

Strong classroom management and positive, student-centered approach
Preferred

Experience in an IB World School, especially PYP
-
IB workshops/training (Category 1/2/3) or willingness to complete training

Experience with curriculum design, rubrics, portfolios, and standards-based assessment
